back to article IBM still spending its way to cloud relevance with Taos purchase

IBM is to snaffle San Jose-based consulting outfit Taos as it seeks to bolster its cloud biz. With 30 years of enterprise tech consulting under its belt, Taos has its fingers in many industry pies, including media, finance, healthcare, and education. "The platform," he said, "gives enterprises the freedom to choose from multiple providers to best meet their business and IT needs, and we are committed to helping our clients successfully navigate their open hybrid cloud journeys with those providers."

..as long as its strongly suggested that the platform be IBM based, or a platform that benefits IBM financially in some way, shape, or form.

Make no mistake, IBM doesn't take business just to be impartial - its all about the next sale of IBM tat on offer.

    Pointless

So India Business Machines thinks it can buy itself back into relevance. The reason they are mocked now is they botched too many important projects, acquisitions, and products over the last 40 years that many are surprised they are still around and marginally viable.

It'll be the typical consulting acquisition story. Big slovenly corp buys little agile corp, sudden dread for anyone at little corp, but look at those shares! Just have to stay a few years to vest, and then run in the opposite direction as fast as possible. After 2 years, anyone staying hates their lives, everyone else ran away to good jobs, and it's another bunch of clueless outsourced middle management running the operation as status quo fail for big corp.

Already IBM is crapping on Redhat, running off customers using CentOS to anyone but IBM. Anyone that Taos had as a customer will move away too when costs start going up, the IBM sales suits show up for revenue generating events, and you smell nothing but bullshit.

You just can't have anything good today.

IBM doesn't have a clue about cloud or datacenter, it has bought SOO MANY cloud leaders and just subsumed them into the IBM collective and destroyed them and their value.

it has bought SOO MANY cloud companies and called them "leaders" in a vain attempt to compete with the real leaders.
