quite - there is no obvious solution to this at this time.
God knows what the huge amounts of police drafted in could possibly be doing.
It kinda reminds me of the Gaza situation with missiles being lobbed over the border.
I guess in the future a drone defence system similar to Isreals Missile defence system may be developed.
IE homing explosive packed intercept drones.
I too am intrigued . If the drone was constantly flying around *maybe* they could triangulate ,(then shoot it) but it only pops up every hour or so to guarantee continued closure.
Thats assuming its not on a radio free pre programmed flight.
As it is , with the drone not even flying most of the time , i have a picture in my head of policemen wondering around the airfield , or surrounding streets , hoping to ... well .... god knows
"Clean laptop and phone"
Why? Because I don't trust anyone, particularly hotel staff. Getting my laptop stolen would be a nightmare for work reasons. Getting my phone stolen might lead to all sorts of identity theft problems I don't want to deal with.
What does that entail exactly? you wipe the phone book? so you cant ring anyone? you remove all work from your work laptop? surely your work laptop is encrypted so if its stolen - no data issue
Phones can also be encypted and not even reusable with a wipe/format to a thief - why not do that?
" Is there anything that will do the job nowadays?"
yeah write a script along the lines of msgbox("hi there") , copy it to destination pc and run it from there using psexec.
Unless you mean do the job of messaging every user on the network and getting yourself fired , in which case you need a bigger script.
I agree some sort of empathy-for-your-fellow-man (or in this case beast) classes should be taught.
Or is that a bit too Clockwork Orange?
Is it ok to try to teach the thug who beats pensioners to a pulp in order to steal a little jewelry that that is not ok?
Or is that Mind control ? or against human rights?
Didnt work out well in the film "Serenity"
"Or, by any chance, when you say "everyone" are you including toddlers?"
I think they are , i've never heard of any age limits on owning a gun in the US, i could be wrong though.
just googled it , i am wrong age = 12 in 30 states - the rest: anything goes
21 to have a drink
14 to drive a car
help yourself to a rifle
15 can get married in some states
did they pick these numbers out of a hat?
"I worked with a guy who used it like that"
moron.
Did he have L & R written on his hands to facilitate driving.
" was never shown the 'right' way" FFS 20 seconds of using the thing you show you the right way.
If it dosent you are not a thinker and have zero independant thought processes , you are a programmable meatbag , you know , like in the beancounters office?
I've seen films where the zombies have more intuition than that.
Its lucky his mommy showed him the right way to dress himself , or he'd be walking arounf looking into the hood of his jacket.
true its over thought technical solution. What proportion of litter are mcdonalds responsible for? youd have to tag all packing and everything in the packaging!
Better to make it more socially outrageous than it is now - like the sign in the article.
Farmers use it here to fertilize their crops which is why we only end up with one set of tramlines through fields rather than half the crop chewed up by Jethro driving erratically whilst pissed up on cider.
farmers use ecrypted military gps? no wait , they use the free one - same as all the other examples given above. We dont need this new thing
no , seriously , why *do* we need this?
For the military? what do they need 1cm accuracy for over 30 ft accuracy?
Why do the military always get better stuff than the rest of us?
I could use 1cm accuracy for my drone delivery business.
Dont the US already give us military spec GPS? even though I'm sure we can effectively bomb far away people on garmin gps accuracy
and performed sobriety checks, which I passed easily.
Why do american cops still persist with this stoneage method? especially when they have a breathalyzer??
Its no wander they messed up the meth test , they still havent mastered checking for alcohol!
What does "Switch to Manual!!" actually mean?
Is it possible for software to "Get the fuck out the way?"
It isnt on my car - a 28 year old sports car - it still has a little computer running software deciding how much fuel to put in and which / when spark plug to fire , and when it fucks up , as it has a few times locomotion ceases.
My cay at least has a throttle cable - most dont these days , and neither do these planes.
