Paul Allen's six-engined monster plane prepares for space deliveries

Any other uses?

I wonder if you could make a cargo hold that could be attached when needed. Possibly it could move some of the big/heavy loads that that 6 engined Antonov beast is used for.

I suppose it means I´m getting old and smelly, but my best memories have it fried in beef dripping, with no sauce. Just pepper and salt and mustard.

Concorde without the cacophony: NASA thinks it's cracked quiet supersonic flight

Re: Engines

The first day I flew, in December 1960, the second leg was on a BOAC Comet 4 from Heathrow to Zurich and they made a similar announcement about a sudden drop in engine noise that would occur just after take off. But nothing to do with supersonic flight of course!

Difficult to say where is the best place for the fingerprint scanner.

I have a Mate S with it on the rear and an M3 with it on the front. The rear one is very natural when holding the phone in one hand except when you have one of those fold back covers. On the other hand I often use both of these on a table top in which case the front scanner is best if the device turns off while I am working at something else.

Perhaps Huawei should have both, and make it so as one can set either to the functions one finds most useful.

Re: Full marks for extra experience!

Swiss Army knife is SO useful. Last year I had the screen on a Nexus 7 Mk 2 replaced, but later found the rear camera did not work. Opened it up, took it all to bits and reconnected the camera with just the one tool.

Mind you, the original repair guy, in China, had made me blink when he opened the tablet by running his thumbnail round it!

I know it's not quite the same thing, but since I came to China 3 years ago I signed up for a couple of the free cloud services.

Wei Yun is from the people who run Wechat; they give me 10TB free.

The second 360 Yun Pan who give a staggering 36TB free!

Both of these work great on computers or phones,

They seem to have different ideas about cloud here.

Calvary twill? That's a new one. Won't sell to the PBI.

Canon offers a cloud just for still photos, not anything else. Weird

Chinese Clouds

You might call them the Great Clouds of China. Tencent, the owner of Wechat, give you 10TB, while 360Pan give you an amazing 36TB. I'm using both and find them very useable

Re: The historical accident of little-endian

Well, looking through an old passport with arabic writing in it I was able to confirm that while text goes right to left, numbers go left to right.

17k +?

I'd have thought it was only the relative speed they had to worry about, which could be quite low.
