The supposedly "Christian" right wing in the USA is the American Taliban. They are an intolerant un-Christian warmongering from-my-cold-dead-hands bunch of despots. They will find some justification in "scripture" for whatever nasty deeds they do.
I can imagine a scene, much like a horror film, certain "Christian" churches: Verily we made the wenches bring forth child after child. It's a miracle. And fire and brimstone on ye idolaters. Nail 'em up. Naiiiillll 'em up.
