It's safe to say that most US congressmen and senators are already well-off before they run for office and/or need substantial monetary donations in order to win their seats. I'm on the other side of the argument. Wyden is a Democrat, but he's aware that Republicans will soon begin legislating these concerns, reining in the internet companies, particularly if they hold onto the House of Representatives. His latest plan is based on his desire to control and restrict the debate.
