Does anyone know how they work out the value of this stuff? Is it the amount they would get if they sold all the stock at full high street price? or if they sold it at whatever the going rate is for pirate DVDs?

Either value is optimistic Hancock was awful, they were never gonna sell many of them.

I'm not sure this will upset Sony too much though. I'm guessing that they've looked at the effect dropping the price will have and decided against it. I've not seen the latest sales figures but they must feel they'll make more money selling less units for more money than more units for less money.

Ok he may or may not have a TV licence, but i would think he definitely has a case for suing under the DPA for the fact (erroneous or otherwise) that he does have a licence published. What's wrong with these people?

My guess is they don't have the right to demand these sorts of things but they do have the right to refuse you permission to travel. You can show them or you can go by bus/train/canoe the choice is yours.

OK not quite but if this is how one retailer feels the others must be asking questions about stocking of HD-DVD.

The Warner Blu-Ray announcement may not signal the end but it looks like it could be the beginning of the end of HD-DVD.

I can't see Toshiba throwing in the towel just yet but it's difficult to see how they can fight back from here.

And later when trying to impress on the BBC TV presenter the importance of his plea, "F**k the address, just give the phone, here's the number...".

I'll put my hands up to mis-remembering the event as well.. It wasn't until i read this that i realised i was wrong
