I think part of the issue is that a lot of people talk about Kanban, when what they're really referring to is Vendor Controlled Inventory for commodity items (like nuts and bolts); a bloke rocks up a couple of times a week and fills up various boxes of bits and bobs.

Maybe sooner. I've seen a few implementations that subtracted 28 years from all dates in the database, then adds 28 years to DB dates in all programs displaying/printing dates (so that the weekday is correct)
