Re: EU market size.
The irony of this being Apple won't want to waste time & money shipping a different type to the UK so we'll probably end up with it anyway. They're probably thinking the UK will get forced to be 'in line' by the EU to keep trading as well.
This is what happens when you try trading with someone 10000x more powerful than you... "we have all the cards" etc etc (poo emoji)
This is the best pay offer you'll get without more strikes, union tells BT workers
Wanting more money doesn't mean you are greedy. It just means you are realistic. These companies are making £1b+ in profits so why shouldnt the people who make everything work, every day get a bigger slice?
Inflation is increasing the price of everything and yet wages are staying the same, so how can the companies really justify it?

Just the cost of doing business for these companies. This fine will just be to keep the EU happy which is why it's so low.

This is a very good shout. $1.3b a year interest on a loan for a company that barely makes a profit ... I think amongst those tax deductions will be bank share prices diving & some crazy people getting the sack. Probably get a nice pay off though so not quite the same if you or me lost the company we work for billions!

The hypocrisy of you lot crying about ‘getting handed things on a plate’ when you are probably getting paid cash in hand, through dividends & a director’s loan is beautiful.
How dare the little people join a union!
For the record I’m in the private sector and this month paid more tax than I took home in my first job out of uni 4 years ago. But I still understand & live in the real world
Some of these comments are grim.
Berating people for wanting more money during a cost of living crisis when you all wouldn't think twice about asking for a pay rise yourself. You'd be hard pressed to even find a PHP Developer on less than £30k now. The median salary in the UK is £ 25,971. Electricity is going through the roof with potentially £5k of that £25k being spent on electric alone.
To say people go to food banks for 'free food' ? Fuck off and get a grip.
I have done a lot of work in that area and I will tell you now, you couldn't be further from the truth.

GitLab U-turns on deleting dormant projects after backlash
“ Archived projects docs.gitlab.com/ee/user/projec… is a user activated state that signals intent. We're not sure yet but very likely the storage type used is orthogonal to that. Our current plan for object storage gitlab.com/groups/gitlab-… would keep the repos visible to everyone.”
What the fuck is orthogonal?
