If not more its one of those techs which sounds great they will train troops to use and then never deploy them because of cost.

Oxbridge lectures now on iTunes

Mark Broadhurst
Jobs Horns

When I first read the title

I thought that Oxbridge was giving lectures about iTunes.

Something along the lines of

"iTunes was a service offered by apple but got dragged down by its own DRM, but was popular in the early 00's"

Very slow news day

Apple surrenders the Pink (to Microsoft)

Mark Broadhurst

Apple owns the word Pink?

No I didn't think so.

Otherwise it wouldn't be used by a high street shirt company.

EA in Spore DRM climbdown

Mark Broadhurst
Unhappy

Any yet they do it again ?

So they say sorry about the DRM but then bung it on Crysis Warhead and are still planning on putting it on Command and Conquer Red Alert 3.

if it is trying to learn from its mistakes and make ammends why make exactly the same mistake again and again ?

Mark Broadhurst
Thumb Down

Suprise ?

"EA tells the Los Angeles Times the customer fallout took the company by surprise."

and yet they took a hit about using the same DRM in mass effect, and they didn't see the back lash coming?

I've had no probelems with speed, the only thing which is slightly slugish is the new address bar features.

At 12 Mb its hardly bloaty.

Road Pricing 2.0 is two years away

Mark Broadhurst

Responses.

@ AC - The least worst option...

The problem with that is that the proposal also brings in the idea that going on bigger roads cost more where as you would use the same (or less) fuel for going on them.

@ Stu Reeves

The reason cycling isn't taking off is because you can't tax it, no fuel, no road wear (virtually), the ideal solution would be to have a propper public transport system, while they don't make waves just look at Toronto, works wonderfully well.

If your SSD sucks, blame Vista, says SSD vendor

Mark Broadhurst
Gates Halo

He may as well have said "our vista drivers are borked"

Its not ms's responsibility to make drivers for hardware its the hardware manufacturers, just about every other hardware company out there know this.

Even if the likes of NVidia causes 26% of the crashes on vista with theirs...

and yet the benchmarks are on MacOSX ?

Vista is to blame for bad bench marks on OSX ?

I really don't think its anything to do with MS.

Built-in browser expiry proposed to fight botnet menace

Mark Broadhurst
Unhappy

How will you get people which dont update to update?

Sounds like a catch 22 to me?

Lets also face the unpleasant prospect that even if browsers did expire and you have to update. people would complain that they are being forced on to the new version when they don't think its ready yet.
