Nope. Sales rate is the rate of additions to the fleet.

As the later bits of your comment imply, the rate of increase in the fleet is based on sales and also retirements.

Whilst Christmas may have started as a religious festival it is now also a cultural festival for people of any religion and none. The same is true of some festivals in other religions.

Or, indeed, a first-party proxy to a third-party site. Which you can't detect from the client end (whereas an A/AAAA record you could theoretically check it's within the same AS or something)

So what about a site that has domains CNAMEd to a CDN or similar? You may need quite a lot of eggs for this omelette.
