Dutch cops reveal takedown of 'world's largest dark web market'

Since I am now old enough that all the people I bought weed from 50 years ago are dead of old age, I use the so-called dark web to get cannabis. I can get a home delivery quicker than Tesco. The park nearest my house has lovely wee 4 inch (10cm for you youngsters) stickers with nice pictures of a cannabis leaf, and a QR code. Same-day delivery. I note that rival 'gangs' tear off or obliterate the QR code and substitute their own.

The occasional exit scam is less overhead than the time and money one used to spend chasing down a dealer. Quality and weight much better than the 'old days'.

My company built PCs when it was possible to import components from Taiwan, build PCs and sell them to major corporates. I remember the IT manager of one such company, telling me that although our machines were more reliable than IBM or Compaq ( we did 48hrs soak test on each before we shipped. Not difficult) he had been instructed by head office to buy only IBM or Compaq at about 50% premium. Oh well. Game over

At home, I has a PS/2 Model 80 with 4mb RAM and a microchannel graphics and network card. I thought it was miles ahead of Windows. But nobody cared.

I remember the impact of the IPX traffic. WE had to ban doom except at lunchtime. Cheyanne's NLM Faxserve, could not receive faxes if there was more than 4 players on Doom.

What's the problem? I buy enough crypto for a month's worth of weed, and spend it right away. Works perfectly.

Such an important book. After 40+ years in project management, I am shocked at how few of the youngsters I meet have read it. Usually they are up to their arse in 'agile' nonsense.

We joined the UK because just enough of our parliament was bribed, and the English army moved into Edinburgh the next day. 'A parcel of Rogues' was how Burns described them. No we have not forgotten.

As a stoner of fifty years practice, and therefore old enough not to go out in these troubled times, I have had to master the dNet markets rather than pop down to Railton Road to score.

Excellent service, quality, and so far, reliability. I lost £10 in my escrow when one of them was exit scammed, but recently left £30 by mistake in escrow just before Bitcoin tripled in value, so I smoke for free for six months.

The huge number of markets on the dNet all have very similar software, which would seem obvious for a world where IP rights are challenging to enforce. The escrow provisions, use of encryption, etc are all first class. Easier to get a next day delivery that Tesco.

Closing down one of them is, of course, utterly pointless. Children going hungry and the police are chasing dope dealers rather than Conservative politicians…….where’s ma skins.
