How to run an LLM on your PC, not in the cloud, in less than 10 minutes

Re: Local

I think they may have meant GPT4ALL which is also local (though it has the option to connect to remote LLMs). It's GUI-based and you can load the same models as Ollama.

Hey hey hey, guess where the $10b will come from. Surely not by increasing prices in this duopoly* market for sure!

Canada's internet prices are already among the highest in the world so what's an extra 10%.

How experimental was Microsoft's 'experimental banner' in File Explorer?

Re: Usual answer

I also have a 10 year old laptop with KDE. Supersmooth on integrated graphics, even with wobbly windows enabled!

I don't really get the KDE/GNOME being heavier than Windows argument.

Ubuntu on a phone, anyone? UBports reaches 18th stable update, but it's still based on 16.04

Re: Linux phone

Sailfish is a very polished OS and it's fully Linux-based. I have it on my Sony Xperia as my daily driver. It comes with a terminal too if you enable developer mode. It's not fully open source unfortunately, but a lot of it is. It's somewhat of a spiritual successor of Maemo, a lot of the ex-Nokia people are involved.

It even lets you run Android apps if you buy the licence. No Google Play of course, but it works pretty well in my experience. Then again, I don't use a lot of apps, so YMMV.

Why make games for Linux if they don't sell? Because the nerds are just grateful to get something that works

Oh, yes, Planetary Annihilation. It doesn't surprise me they had many Linux support tickets. As far as I could tell from their responses, they didn't even have a Linux desktop to test their builds...
