ROFLCOPTER
what a joke of an article, i suggest the author "Simon Sharwood, APAC Editor" find a hole and jump into it, sharpish.

and we weren't comparing Three to Voda, we were comparing Mobile BB to fixed line BB. :)
if you happen to live in the sticks, that's something you have to accept, or get together with your local community and get Fibre installed if it's that bad. My parents did that and they now have unlimited Fibre to the HOUSE, yes to the HOUSE.
Check out Rutland Telecom :)
"- no other ISP in my area is capable of providing more than 6Mbit *at any time of day*, regardless of what I or others are doing"
HAHAH, what planet do you live on?
every single ISP in the country* provides more than 6mbit (as long as you don't live down a well in the outer hebrides)
(*Talk Talk excluded for obvious reasons)
Muppet
Fastest my arse!
Try Rutland Telecom, my folks live on the island in the middle of Rutland Water and have just had fibre to the HOUSE, yes, to the HOUSE, put in.
Any speed you want.
Virgin are a bunch of crooks who spend most of their money on leaflets shoved thru people's doors desperately trying to get more business.
And even if they were offering the "fastest broadband", what is the point, when they cap your download speeds massively?
f00s.
a couple of top people "resign" and then the scandal gets muted.
Cos ofc that makes all the difference :)
If one solitary person had been "caught" with evidence of "phone hacking", specially if the US was involved, they'd be up for long sentences. When it comes to our Met police or the most influential newsgroup in the UK, it'll be the usual "oh well, yes you were naughty, slap on wrist, token resignations, etc" then back to "normal".
It's quite blatant that this is endemic. And as for Labour barking about it..! hah! they were the ones in power when all this happened and they totally ignored it.
i could go on....
You really are in danger of turning into The Inquirer.... (which I gave up reading a good while ago)
Is this a speech to text fail or what?
"Assuming it's rather better than previews Tablet PC editions of Windows"
Eh?
"Apple, we feel sure, will not feel to hard done by"
too maybe?
How about sorting out the slack in your journos, it just makes the site look like an amateur blog.
We all have jobs to do, and you are failing.....
Our accounts team have been moaning constantly and were on the phone for over an hour!(after waiting in a queue for >20 callers & 20 mins) For starters they didn't inform any of the "protx" users prior to the "upgrade" that the url for the admin logon had changed completely and was now hosted on sagepay.com and not protx.com, all they got was a "400 Bad Request" error when they tried to access it. Then they were informed they should change to Firefox if they wanted it to work "properly". When they finally got logged in they find the new interface is rubbish, making it really awkward to print out reports they way they had been used to. The new layout only showed 3 transactions on the screen due to the awful new format.
All in all a very, very poorly executed "upgrade".
...With all these negative issues re battery life/changing etc, tell me, what it is that the wonderful iPhone does that other phones can't..... (apart from "looking good and being a catwalk phone").
My SE C903 is great, has a very long battery life, a battery you can replace, and it isn't even touch screen, yet provides me with seemingly all the features like an iPhone, and i'm not locked into some silly £45/month contract for 2 years.
And no, i'm not interested in the glut of pointless iPhone apps on the store.
Gawd, you really must have had a few at lunchtime, Sarah.
I read and post on the Reg with tongue in cheek, as most do.
You seem to have taken this all a bit too seriously.
More of concern is that, as a moderator of peoples comments on an IT related news site, you have alot to learn honey.
If you look back you were the one to bite. :)
Your comments are derogatory, rude and quite frankly if i was employing you, you'd be fired. (and yes i have employed people in your role - they have seen fit to be polite to their(our) "clients, readers, members", as you would expect from a professional organisation.)
Your rants are nothing but FOTW material.
The "comments" area is provided for comments. The fact you need to pick on the "IT angle" to "defend" yourself or make your point is laughable.
Chill...
lovingly,
-Ben xx
@ Sarah
"Sorry, Ben, we forgot you were the official Reg readership spokesman. In future we'll run everything by you to check for interest and IT angle. That OK?"
Yes that's fine. It might make for better reading. :)
And speaking of ODFO, how about you check what you type before you hit send...
"(I'd deliver unto you an ODFO, but since technically you outrank me as readership spokesman, it would not be politic.)" Do you mean polite perchance? :p
@El Reg
Can i get paid for this please? :)
And in general, thanks Sarah for making me laugh alot, nerve well and truly touched it seems :)
I think Harry Enfield put it best... "Women, know your limits!"
