As noted above, some Samsung phones are made in Vietnam. As for cameras, Pentax certainly used to have DSLRs assembled there (my latest one is marked "Made in Philippines" though). Vietnam may have a Communist government, but they have been working to attract inward investment for a long time now, and they make a lot more than just shoes.
