Sony no longer home of the Bravia as it plans TV biz spin-out to China’s TCL

Re: Akio Morita

Yes indeed.

Akio Morita

I worked at Sony from 1986-2011 as a repair tech, instructor and Product Manager. I don’t think Sony recovered from the death of Akio Morita, at least on the consumer product side. That and their fixation with owning physical media, tape, disk, Memory Stick whatever, all with pretty severe DRM.

I had a few of the Sony Digital Walkman products, all sounded pretty good, but loading up an album’s worth of songs on a 64Mb Stick was painful. Love it or hate it, the iPod and iTunes got it right.

Ironically, one of the biggest inspirations for Steve Jobs was Sony with their manufacturing and product design philosophies.

Greenland

Pretty sure this is why wants Greenland, to build data centers there. I’m also sure his lackies at Microsoft, Amazon and Google are in on this. What could be better for cooling? Greenland is a giant heat sink, and if things get really toasty, just open the windows…

“ In 2015, Joe Biden’s younger brother, James…”. This unattributed quote is from The Epoch Times. Do you have any *credible* sources for this allegation? Here’s another unattributed quote: “The Epoch Times is a far-right international multi-language newspaper and media company affiliated with the Falun Gong new religious movement.”

Trump hits undo on Biden AI safety order, EV mandate, emissions standards, and more

This article is from 2011. I live on the Gulf of *Mexico* coast of Florida, we had three major storms within 3 months, much more than a normal season on this side. Milton was devastating for some communities, and went all the way to North Carolina. These patterns are NOT normal. Even if climate change is a natural phenomenon, wouldn’t it behoove us to cut back on carbon emissions, so we don’t exacerbate the situation?

Re: scrapped the goal of transitioning half of passenger vehicles into zero-emissions vehicles

Well according to his MAGA fans, it was his way of saying “my heart goes out to you”… I guess a certain mustachioed Austrian had the same thing in mind.

I think the point is, TESLA will be the only choice in EVs. In other words, a monopoly. trump and musk will find a way to make this happen.

I agree. Stalin did the same with his generals, always pitting them against each other.

Japan cruises ahead with drive-thru EV charging trial

Re: Vehicle ID based charging

OK, I’ll bite. My KIA EV6 GT-Line does 0-60 in under 5 seconds, the GT model does it under 4 (500+ HP motor). I have a home charger so no problem for me. I am retired and don’t travel any more distance than max range of the vehicle (about 275-300 miles) Not for everyone maybe, but for me I wouldn’t drive anything else. So much disinformation out there regarding EVs.
