Re: Our president may be a dumbass...

@Mike's "Our president may be a dumbass, but no one here likes him either."

Actually, since you people claim to live in a "democracy" and a "free country" and have "legally" elected the "dumbass" in question, I can't see what you're complaining about. Remember the old saying, "A nation only has the leader they deserve."

And for the record: nobody's saying that *each and every* American is crazy. We only take exception to your way of life over there -- and yes we don't like it so we'll just stay away thank you very much.

That's because...

... she's obviously a very dangerous terrorist from the Eastern Kingdoms and as such must be stopped at all costs. She was surely going to fireball the entire North Carolina on a killing spree, after she had abducted and sacrificed her level 17 - pardon, 17-year-old boyfriend to get past a particularly nasty mob.

P.S. Americans are nuts. Sounds much like Minority Report - without the science-fiction.

Actually...

... and contrary to what Mr Shubin (or is it Mrs?) seems to think, the traditional Russian toast is "vashe zdorovye" or simply "zdorovye" (as in "[we drink] your health") but I suppose "to your health" is acceptable in less knowledgeable circles :-D

Either way, "Budem zdorovy" means "bless us" (as in "bless you" after someone sneezes) and obviously is rather not appropriate... unless you're allergic to the colorless liquid obviously ;-)

Being woken in the middle of the night?...

@Dax's "Assist a fellow citizen"... Wake up please ! There's a difference between assisting and stupidly taking their place, for one thing, and for another assisting dumbly is much worse (as undoubtedly any person who's had an incompetent co-worker knows by now) than not assisting at all.

As several people pointed out, calling the police would have been one sensible thing to do. I'm sure security guards can fend for themselves -- and if they cannot, it's certainly not John Doe, unarmed, untrained and unarmoured, who's going to save the day... not by throwing himself in anyway.

Can I cause another person to dream?

Being woken in the middle of the night?...

Didn't it occur to researchers that irritability and other such inconvenient symptoms *might* result from the subject being woken in the middle of the night, rather than from them being deprived of dreams per se?...
