In complete fairness, it wasn't selection of Microsoft products that caused the issue.

I've seen my estate in flames from the impact of third-party software updates in the past, and will do so again... all that changes is _which_ third party software strikes the match...

Richard Kiel memorial abend

Ah, the days of putting humorous things into code... back in the day when I found myself running databases on Netware (don't ask, I still have nervous twitches) we occasionally saw the OS fall over reporting a "richard kiel memorial abend".

We reported it, and Netware fixed it.

The abend still happened, but it produced a more straitlaced error message :)
