Ok Mozilla, sounds like it's overdue for you guys to release your own OS. Why not put out your own Linux distro on your own custom hardware (phone, desktop, laptop, tablet) which is also capable of running on generic hardware? You guys could make a killing. The real issue is you're lacking vision and ambition.

It seems that this is ultimately a logistics problem that could be solved by restricting/controlling what entities are able to become valid nodes. I suspect that if Big Provider weren't so intent on ripping off consumers and thus allowing every one to have their own static IP v6 address that establishing identity and limiting node membership to specific identities would solve this problem. It's funny how many problems relate back to identity.

Why doesn't this article mention installing Firefox by downloading it from mozilla.org, which is actually the best way to install it IMHO. For many desktop applications which get updated frequently the preferred way of installing them is directly from the vendor unless there's some overriding or exceptional need to do otherwise.

Also, the article mentions nothing about the non-free Debian repository, which a desktop user is almost certainly going to want to enable, unless again there's some overriding or exceptional situation.

Install f-droid and search for "password manager". "The subtle differences" LOL A good Linux admin will easily understand the nuances between different distros. Many of the comments to this article really reveal a lot about the "market" for CentOS.

Cringe. It's naive to evaluate an entire OS based on one particular network tool or other tools that might be provided as defaults. Many tools exist and a good sysadmin will know then all and how to choose the most appropriate ones.

As a long-time Debian user I stand back and watch and think to myself about all the CentOS fans "You get what you deserve". It's not like you all didn't know what you were dealing with the entire time.

How is this a fix for "Linux"? It is a patch to the optional XFS filesystem which yes is included in the Linux kernel, along with multiple other filesystems. XFS is not even used by default when installing any major Linux distros. It has to be manually selected.

WSL is a waste. Last time I tried it it was nowhere close to Cygwin in terms of functionality. For example, you couldn't even run services on it. I don't use Windows anymore, but if I did I would use Cygwin and not mess with WSL at all since it can actually mess with Cygwin.

I *will* not pronounce it "foosa". If whoever created the spelling for it wanted it pronounced that way, they should have spelled it that way. If the claim is made that that is the way it is pronounced in whatever dialect that is supposed to be, then it isn't English.
