Re: Bad Timing
Yeah, I "smell" something fishy here also.
The fire started at 1am.

LeMonde says the fire started at 1am.
"The fire quickly spread through the building. 'We put in place a large hydraulic device, using a high-powered pump-boat [which drew water from the Rhine], to prevent propagation to adjoining buildings,' Damien Harroué, commander of relief operations, told AFP. 'The floors are wood, and well-heated computer equipment will burn. These are plastics, it generates significant smoke and flames,' he added, to explain the large amount of smoke and the rapid spread of the fire." LeMonde also said it was not a Seveso-classified site meaning no dangerous chemicals were present and air-quality testing showed no pollutants had been released.

I have a blood pressure monitor with armband. Measures my pulse also.
Not connected to anything, though, so not making money for anyone.
Why not stream your pulse and other measurements to your doc's office on a continuous basis?
Then they could monitor all their patients, all the time. I'm sure some super rich people will end up doing it eventually.
I just binge-watched The Expanse S5 for free on an Amazon Prime trial, so I was impressed when it reversed direction like something from the show!
I am waaaaay too claustrophobic to ever go up in one though.
Even plane takeoffs make me uncomfortable . . . or maybe that's just cattle class . . .
I know a guy, actually from Austria, who wears an exact Hitler mustache. He seems like a lovely person. But his haircut is very short and he's Austrian and with the mustache, it gives a certain . . . aura. When he visits where I live, I keep thinking, surely someone has told him to get rid of the damn thing? Or grow it differently? But it never goes away. Really hoping he's not a full-fledged Nazi.
I doubt that Tesla will acquire any employee expectations - Musk is moving the company to Texas in part because the local sheriff threatened his Fremont plant for forcing employees to work during a coronavirus "shelter in place" order. In Texas he can screw them royally.

Agreed. Except, that it can act as a pressure on companies to get and/or keep their act together instead of faffing around. Short seller Chanos saw red flags in Enron's filings that no one else was bothering to pay attention to. Hence he made a killing.
When regulatory organizations have too cosy a relationship to the companies they are regulating, you can argue this is one way to restore balance. It's far from ideal, but if the regulators are incapable of doing, or not permitted to do, their jobs, or there is continued fraud, then the short sellers' investigations can sometimes be the only check scary enough to affect the Board & Executive decisions.
Why not both? Not jailing him for a sufficient length of time will send a message of condoning that conduct. And ADT can probably reduce their liability somewhat but I suspect a good plaintiff's lawyer will find evidence pointing to his predatory nature.
CNN does not put out hate and misinformation. Yes it does have an angle and the angle is obvious to anyone with a brain.
It's not just a tech company issue, it's a social issue. White Americans are waking up to the reality that other white Americans can engage in dangerous and deadly activities that threaten everyone. Which has always been happening, but was largely ignored because they were White so it was ok and it was usually "only" threatening and murdering non-whites (eg lynchings). Or the other favorite explanation for white terrorism- so-called "lone wolf" cases.
Violent White Americans have had too much freedom for too long, free from the consequences of their actions. Hopefully some real resources will be put into rounding up the crazies.
In that case, kick out all the Reps who were elected on the same "fraudulent" ballots.
And ignore all the judges decisions to throw out the cases. Forget the MSM, do you completely distrust the entire judiciary, State and Federal?
The entire "fraud" claim has been a grift, the grift that keeps on giving.
I spend alot of the year in South India and I can attest to the fact that the Indian male ego is fragile beyond belief. It's Patriarchy on steroids. It does not surprise me that a guy would respond that way to a female superior as the men are brought up believing that they are the centre of the frickin' universe.
And everything, literally everything, is always a woman's fault. Like when India lost to Australia in cricket recently and they blamed Kohli's wife's pregnancy for distracting him. The Infosys guy was not at fault of course, it was the woman's fault for making him feel bad about himself.
"The majority" were there to protest a perfectly legitimate, free and fair election. The State officials (of both parties) have said so, almost sixty judges have said so. It is a pure fiction that the election was stolen, a fiction turned into a successful grift by our horrible outgoing Prez. They were there on the basis of repeated lies and vicious, idiotic allegations that the lawyers would not dare repeat in court where they would actually have to prove them. The date was deliberately picked to interfere with the concluding formality of that election. To pressure Congress into changing its mind.
I have no sympathy for the "good people" who showed up to support such BS.
And do NOT create false equivalencies between BLM who protests actual murders by cops, actual violent acts caught on tape that everyone can see, and a cult of personality believing in unproven and unprovable nonsense that Trump pulled out of his ass to assuage his pathetic ego.
They were already censoring and banning certain people. And that's okay. They're private actors. If anything, they should have shut up alot more people alot sooner. If you insist that private bakers should not be forced to put "gay" messages on their cakes then you have to accept privately-owned social media companies don't have to carry messages that go against their values.
Other governments do way more censoring and shutting up of people than the US does - China? India shutting down the internet every five minutes?
If only you were as concerned about the real threat to an orderly transition of power. Trump had it coming.
His point about not being at the Inauguration was seen by some as a suggestion that any conduct is permitted since his personal safety will not be endangered.
Remember Qanon acts like a game and those people STILL believe he has some ultimate plan up his sleeve to create "The Storm."
Are you including in that 40 the two liberals killed by 17 year-old right wing nutjob Kyle Rittenhouse in Kenosha? Or liberal protestor Garret Foster in Austin killed by a conservative? I assume not. Or the deputy killed by the Boogaloo Boy from the Air Force in California? Or the federal security guard he also killed in Oakland and tried to make it look like it was BLM? Most of those deaths were not BY liberals they were OF liberals by RWNJs. They were shot for exercising their right to protest.
Also, several of the arsons were committed by other RWNJs making it look like BLM. I'm not going to give a link because I doubt you will change your mind.
The "unarmed lady" did not "poke her head through a window," she was trespassing in the non-public area of the chambers of government, with a violent mob that had attacked police officers and trashed the building, in an effort to prevent the concluding act of a fair election their idiot candidate lawfully lost.
They were about to enter a higher-security area and a gun was pointed right at her. She jumped up to climb through the window and get into that area. She was a 14-year Air Force veteran with National Guard riot control training, so she damn well knew what was coming next.
These people have a massive sense of entitlement - the US is "their" country, it's "their" government and "their" President. Frankly there should have been massive arrests. But only 30 arrests the first night because white privilege.
