Microsoft tells volume customers they can stay on Windows 7... for a bit longer... for a fee

Hello,

It's June 18, 2019, and after talking to a Microsoft "Partner" company about buying the first year of Windows 7 "Extended Security Updates" (ESU) for the year 2021 from Microsoft for 6 PCs in our business, the word I have is that this is not possible unless we are an Enterprise licensee with at least 500 PCs!

And this was after the Microsoft "Partner" company put in many hours of being on the phone with Microsoft, and being bounced all around that company with most of the people he talked to having never, ever heard of the Windows 7 ESU. So, the Microsoft "Partner" company is not even sure that what they've been told by Microsoft is even good information ---- what good is it for Microsoft to offer something if almost no one in their own company knows anything about it?

I would like to hear from anyone who has actually been able to SUCCESSFULLY buy the Windows 7 ESU for a smaller number of PCs than 500 ---- Anyone?

If you've succeeded in doing this, then please provide a functional step-by-step of instructions of who to contact, how, and what "magic words" must be used to do this.

Finally, if you're a Linux user, yes, we know about Linux, we're looking at some way to use Linux ---- but we have software that is forcing us to stay with Windows, whether we like it or not, so please spare us the typical "you should switch to Linux" responses ---- that's advice we honestly can't use at this point.
