In other news....

I reuse the same password on loads of sites, such as here on the Reg.

PPE

The issue is not the Money, it's the fucking NHS red tape and general difficulty getting it. Throwing money around makes bugger all difference. In some places there is plenty of PPE and I know that many people with 3D printers and home sewing experts that are using backdoor methods to get the kit in. On the flip side I had the early "walkmans"....ok a crappy binatone job, progressed to top flight Awia (would cost around £600 these days for inflation), no such thing as volume limiting. Rule 270

You MUST NOT stop on the carriageway, hard shoulder, slip road, central reservation or verge except in an emergency, or when told to do so by the police, traffic officers in uniform, an emergency sign or by flashing red light signals. Do not stop on the hard shoulder to either make or receive mobile phone calls.

I'd class helping at the scene of an accident as an emergency, and so would every police officer in the UK.

I wish that were true.

Next time you see a church asking for a few grand for repairs, ask the local vicar / priest why they don't just sell some of the billions of Pounds in shares.

Just like a business, there seems to be a tipping point where making money becomes the be all and end all of it and screw everyone else.

I've worked and helped set up charities, and it pisses me off the big ones putting out the begging bowl when they are sitting in millions.

Support your little local charity, the chances are they are in it for the love of what they do, not for the money. Looking at you RSPCA...still killing healthy animals for no reason? Yup thought so.

Ah the volume wars.

Slide everything to max and compress the hell out of it.

9/10 times it's not the producers fault, but the bands saying "yeah sound good, but can we make it louder!" And if the band ARE the producers, oh dear.

It's one of the reasons vinyl "sounds better", is that vinyl cannot take the abuse so much, so the over compression has to be wound back in. It's not vinyl is better, it's that CD mastering is worse.
