Chances are 75% of the Andriod phones in use don't either. All that removing them from the market does is give people the choice, pay more or take your chances on the likes of eBay, where it may be knackered or stolen.
Rather than the likes of MM stop selling them, just say its no longer supported.

What a pathetic excuse, I'll do it for a fraction of that.
1. Produce a Youtube video with basics such as passwords, links and spotting dodgy websites. Make people watch it.
2. Stick posters up saying stuff like "Don't Click It" or "Verify the source" rather than crap motivational posters.
3. Randomly try basic social engineering work on people and make everyone aware ofbthe failures.
Get it done for free by getting Cyber Security and Physcology Students to run the program.

The Nortel Meridans were bloody rock solid. Only had to do a hard boot on an Option 81 after 15 years. Despite cards being fried by lighting strikes, multiple card failures (hot swapping was no problem) and upgrades. Was running SIP almost a decade before it caught on with most other providers.

Many Mom and Pops these days will be using a managed system, such a Squarespace, a Wordpress or Joomla system, which are pretty easy to secure, so long as you install something like wordfence and UPDATE when prompted, or just don't bother at all and use Facebook or Instagram.

I think your article is very misleading.
It states that these broke policies similar to iOS and Andriod, when as any Dev knows, iOS does not have policies, rather a set of vague guidelines that are applied to random apps in a random fashion. Just because that app you have had on there for 5 years, does not mean the random ban hammer will not be applied next week.
Whereas Andriod very clearly states any data gather must be shared with Google and anyone else it decides has enough cash.
