I was going to check...
...to see if the number of attacks on my websites had reduced.
Then I remembered I had a Drop All against their ASN in Cloudflare.

I need at least £500k, plus a house, car and gilt edged pension.
Then I will step up to the goalposts, punt a few pucks the whole 9 yards, touch some bases, set up a committee to look at offshoring our Ai blockchain to the cloud using low code. Then after the suboptimal outcomes, I shall go onto pastures new, with my golden handshake.
So as you can see, I'm fully qualified for the position.
"No, a large and professional one. We fix our problems, we don't bodge "solutions".
Ok.well we had a system, one of the most reliable systems out there (think 5 9's is their MINIMUM reliability), by a multi-billion dollar company. We, along with a few others, had a bug that caused a race condition in one component causing it fail.
A " bodge" was to restart a background service every 48 hours.
A proper fix arrived 3 months later. Why three months? Because when you are running high availability systems installed in thousands of multi-billion pound companies, the last thing you want to do, is rush out a fix, to cause a catastrophic failure in multiple systems.
It's called thorough testing. And I applaud them for that.
"I wonder if it's possible to pick up all the e-waste, grind...."
That is how it is done. Much of it is done by a single machine, it us just a giant shredder, sorts out basic parts e.g ferrous, plastics and non-ferrous. And then sent off for further processing.
Anything where "Think of the children" is concern, drop an email to the Daily Mail.
They love this shit, by the time the article is published, it will be Pedos (sic), the Chinese and ISIS watching naked children via online security cameras. Boris Johnson said to be fuming and asks for stricter border controls....except those that may have covid, then its ok, especially if it's a business trip, or you can afford the fine, or you're a MP, then just say sorry.
Sorry Zen. Your customer, your problem. End Of. Don't pass the buck in this shitty manner.
If I was the customer I would take this and raise an official complaint. No joy, small claims court.
Orange Internet (as it was back then) tried a similar stunt, only the court paper work got them to fix the issue and also compensate for the losses..and got me out of the contract.
