Five billion phones are dead in drawers – carriers want to mine them

IGotOut Silver badge

Odd because my last work actually had a recycling unit for computers, printers, monitors etc.

If you think they have hundreds of people sitting there taking them carefully apart you are misguided.

You take pc, remove battery, love whole lot in huge bit of machinery and few minutes later you have several piles of shredded metals, plastics and glass.

Yeah, thought so.

Don't see why people moan about the commute.

I mean I see hills, valleys and the river; cows, and sheep grazing in the fields, along with all sorts of wildlife. Seeing the odd steam train during the summer is a bonus. Granted being stuck behind a tractor for about 5 minutes is a real pain, but most these days can happily zip along at 40mph.

You know I had to wait a whole 10 minutes the other week due to roadworks.

Such a nightmare.

Oh yeah, my old commute into Brum...yeah that's been completely wiped from my memory.

Mark Zuckerberg would kick Elon Musk's ass, experts say

IGotOut Silver badge

Really

Musk has arranged the time, but ultimately will fail to show, saying he never actually meant it, but if he must, he'll send someone else. If he wins, it's because he is the one that trained him. If he loses, they'll just get fired.

Zuck will turn up and walk through he crowd shaking hands, whilst removing the wallets and purses with the other. He will say the fight was all his idea and no one else was involved.

Ultimately it will be like the two blokes in the street that rip off their shirts shouting "c'mon then" over and over until their tiny trophy girlfriends grab them by the ear and drag them away.

Brit data watchdog fines sleazy sales ops £250K for 'bombarding' folk with calls

Re: Pathetic

For those that don't know.

This is how it works.

They fine the company, they also can bar the directors.

This is the key bit.

If they intentionally fold the company or fail to pay, then they can go directly after them, including fines, seizure of assets and imprisonment, as it's classed as a breach of statutory duty.

Re: meet the new bagholder, same as the old bagholder

Yup. Read those comments, and yet again nothing anti semantic in them

It's a sad scenario that you try to spin this as some racial /. religious dogma to fill your agenda

They could be from England, The USA and Botswana for all I care, they are scumbags only motivated by profit with fuck all morals.

And have a look at all the comments about the NSA, GCHQ or the FSB.

Are those any semantic? No? Why? Ah not based in Israel

You're one of those people that as soon as someone criticizes the Israeli government or a Israeli company, scream " anti sematic", rather than dealing with the real issue, in this case, being low lives that have put journalists, political activists in serious risk of harm or detention.

But as they are Israeli, I guess we should suck it up to not offend people.

@furious....

What a load of bollocks.

If your desperately looking to offended, or be offended on someone else's behalf, then just go outside and look at a brick wall and find that offensive, because I don't know, it was built facing west or something.

There is CLEARLY no antisemitism in that post, but you have gone out your way to be offended by it.
