I know EXACTLY what happened here...

The dev rolled out a change without checking it first. Don't say " I asked it not to" it's a fucking guessing machine, nothing else.

Then you used the thing that broke it in the first place, to try and unfuck the fuck up. And surprise! It double fucked up.

My guess is the idiot that ran this was to incompetent to perform an actual roll back, probably because they were to stupid to actually have something to roll back to, and had no idea how to unfuck the fuckery, because they had no idea what it actually did in the first place.

Ooo car analogy time.

It's like asking a blind person to drive your car and when they smash it into a line of traffic, then asking them to drive out of the burning inferno, back to safety, only to be surprised when they smash into another line of traffic coming the other way.

If you read into this...

Britain pays Starlink millions despite Musk's calls to overthrow UK government

IGotOut Silver badge

The issue is...

..what other option is there?

There is this "Stop using US immediately" mentality, which is a far detached from reality as all the tech bros are.

Even if there 100% commitment to removing all US tech, it's going to take years, if not decades to do.

This doesn't mean don't try, it does mean be realistic.

There are quick kills, stop using Twitter, make all government documentation open formats, do web hosting in your own country.

Short term, increase your industrial base to make the equipment we need, start using European/ local payment systems, move governments away from US tech where practical..

Then just keep going from there.
