Re Amazon Music

I'm surprised that they even had anyone left in the music team.

The App went from a buggy, but usable player, where you could create playlists, listen to whole albums and was overall pretty good.

However, with every "update" it got more buggy and more unreliable then...

Earlier this year, they decided to switch to a Spotify model for the free version. People lost all the playlists, purchased music vanished, the app constantly crashed, it would just stop playing, if you got it working in the first place and was generally unusable.

If you think this is over exaggeration, on Android it went from about 4.6* to 2.7*. Given how many reviews there were in place before, it takes a huge amount of bad reviews to force it down that much.

Simple answer to this issue...

Re: More ££s wasted instead of…

Yeah, while we're at it, can we not build ANY infrastructure as it's a waste of money (HS2 exempt), and don't bother with Libraries, leisure centres, parks, cleaning, building main.

All a waste of money.

Give it to a hard done by consultant, as he has to work almost a 3 day we week, and those nurse that spend all day on the computer doing fuck all.

You want money for the NHS? Reduce waste, sack the lazy and useless ones (there are a LOT in the NHS), reduce bureaucracy, get rid of much of the management and get value for money.

The NHS isn't underfunded, it's badly run.

33 AGs sue Meta for 'exploitative and harmful acts' against American children

IGotOut Silver badge

As much as I agree with many of the points...

....this smacks of yet another Satanic Panic / Parental Advisory / Blame anything else.

The real issue is you have a social culture that ACTIVELY encourages greed and violence.

When the kids are surrounded by negative news, programming and print media that CONSTANTLY says in order to be happy you need to be rich, no matter who you shit on to get there, is it any wonder the kids (and adults) left behind are depressed. Throw in the huge cultural , economic and political polarisation that is getting worse year on year and you have all the makings of a broken society

Want to be rich?

Work 100 hour week and throw morals out the window.

Want to get the perfect partner?

Get Botox, your teeth whitened and straightened, go to the gym for 8 hours a day and don't forget the spray tan.

Which way do you think? You can only think OUR way. Everything else is wrong.

My advice I give to my kids (it took me almost 50 years to find this out).

If you want to be happy, do what you want, not what others expect. Be who you want to be, not the person others want you to be. You can be rich, but what good is being rich if you hate yourself and everyone around you.

Interesting spin there.

So it's OK for a startup to use other people's hard work, but once successful, you can't use theirs.

So classic bait and switch.

Here is a simple solution. If you want to "protect" your work, start with a closed license from day one, so you don't cream off other people until you decide to stick up the middle finger.

If they didn't use the SatNav, would this of still happened?

Yes, then it's not Google's fault.

No, then it's still not Google's fault.

Why?

I live in rural Shropshire and many, many roads are 60mph. On great deal of these, if you go above 20mph, you are riskng ending up in a ditch, a hedge or slamming into a car or tractor around the blind bend.

You drive to the conditions and the surroundings, end of.

If you are unfamiliar with the road and it's dark, slow the fuck down.
