Frightful Patch Tuesday gives admins a scare with 175+ Microsoft CVEs, 3 under attack

IGotOut Silver badge

The rating is not only how bad it is, but also how hard it is to pull off.

Si a flaw that allows someone to send an email.and take over a machine, without even opening the message will get very high

Having to have physical access and then manually having to run the software locally will get a lower score.

Unlike many other recent projects

This is a guy, probably fed up doing much of the work, going, "I've had enough of this project, time to for me to move on". The codes still there, it's still freely available, it's just up to someone else to take on all the associated work.

If there is actually someone willing to do it is another matter entirely.

Android 'Pixnapping' attack can capture app data like 2FA codes

IGotOut Silver badge

Even if you had a valid result in those 30 seconds, then what? It's now no longer valid,

And if like me, you have 6 codes visible (Aegis rather than Google), plus all the information, such as the website it applies to and user name, it's going to be very hard to get any info

Plus if my authenticator app suddenly fired up for no reason, I'd be extremely suspicious.

There's not even that much money

. Both AMD and Nvidia have given "money" on condition they spend the a lot of that "money" buy their stock.

All the likes of OpenAI have to do is spend billions of Dollars they don't actually have building bit barns. Those same bit barn builders equally don't have any money to build them, so have taken on massive debts to finance those same projects.

Oh and did I forget to mention OpenAI has less than 3 months to go public (a thing it's unlikely to manage), before a huge chunk of SoftBank's "money" disappears? BTW, this is the same SoftBank that doesn't actually have the funds to pay OpenAI all the money it's promised?

It's just a massive Ponzi scheme built on a mud mountain of lies and debt.

If someone calls you from India, it is probably a scam. We at Virgin media would never call you, ever, even if you're expecting us to

Step Two

If they have a strong Indian accent that you struggle to understand. It's a scam....no wait, it could be us. Ignore step Two.

Step Three

If they say they are trying to fix your problem, it's a scam. We at Virgin Media would never try and fix your problem.

Step Four.

If they are keeping you on the call, seemingly to fix your Tech Support question, it's a scam. We at Virgin Media will try and get you off the phone as fast as possible.

Final Step

If they connect to your pc, it's a scam. We at Virgin Media will only ever ask you to reboot the device several times before handing you over to another support person who will repeat all the same steps again.

Look at how creative Ukraine has gotten with drones after being denied the "best" US weapons.

The Ukrainians are now selling that tech back to European countries as it's tried and tested in battle, something that a lot of US isn't.

Countries are waking up to the fact a lot of cheap weapons are better than a few very expensive ones, especially in a war of attrition.
