Woman charged with cyberbullying teen on Craigslist

Appropriate punishment...

I think that an appropriate punishment would be that the same information that was posted to Craig's list for the 17 year old be posted about the 40 year old woman. She should not be allowed to change her phone number or employer for 4 years, must answer every call made by respondents, and listen to them for at least 5 minutes each call. Failure to do this would result in reinstatement of the original prison sentence (assuming she is found guilty). Call it alternative sentencing...the prisons are too crowded right now. She should be all for it since she thought it would be a good joke.

Don't prosecute...

The RIAA or the MPAA might find these characters useful...they might even be appointed to the U.S. DOJ.

Amazon sues New York over Amazon Tax

Not a right...

"We say that New York has a right to its tax money. "

Government has no rights...only the citizenry has rights. Government has powers. It makes a difference. We don't ever want government to have "rights" because it is nigh difficult to take away (and questionably unethical and immoral) someone's rights (unless you are black or gay) but "powers" can be removed.

DRM liability

If the ISPs are liable for illegal sharing because their lines transmit the files, and hardware manufacturers are liable because their hardware can facilitate the transfers, and software manufacturers are liable because their software also facilitates transfers...how come the RIAA and MPAA are not liable for publishing the content that can be transferred illegally in the first place?

Lets prosecute those responsible right from the beginning and cut out prosecuting all the middle players...illegal file sharing problem solved. ;)

Sony to exorcise 'rootkit' from USB drives

Blame game

Sony sure likes to point fingers at third parties for its screw ups rather than own up to their underhandedness. One would think that Sony would thoroughly check its products for these types of things before they ship considering how their last attempt to control users blew up in their face. Sony has certainly gone down hill lately. No Sony products for me until they clean up their act.
