Wow...
That's one of the most stupid things I've ever read.

I worked there when we got taken over by Crapita. They ruined everything and we all knew it. We all wished to god DSGi would realise their fuckup and take it back. But obviously they couldn't, contracts and yadda yadda.
It was very obvious to us all how terrible they were though. It's why I left.
So am I to expect more random censorship then? It seems to me that every time some unknown person somewhere decides that there's the remote possibility of a kiddy porn picture somewhere on some site, that site ends up unavilable. But not blocked properly, oh no, instead you get some generic 404/connection error.
So either the IWF are being nazis, or the ISPs SUCK at filtering and don't know their arses from their elbows. Or both.
But it's always so reassuring to know that a legitimate site may one day appear to be "down" when I need it. Only it isn't down, it's actually blocked, without saying it's blocked, because somebody wouldn't THINK OF THE CHILDREN.
Idiots.
I hear ya mate. I worked for PC ServiceCall (Now the Tech Guys) a few years back and DSGi sold us down the river when they handed management over to Capita. Suddenly we found ourselves being fucked over with shift changes and other disasterous new policies (despite original assurances that things would remain the same) and lost any "benefits" of being a DSGi employee.
They can crash and burn for all I care.
The last comment about Jessica Whyte suddenly being unable to wipe her sons ass and go out eating. I agree they have a case if they were actually served shit but there's no need to phone it in to that extent. It's like people claiming to be on anti-depressants and unable to work after tripping over a paving stone and sueing the Council.
It's no real suprise that they are making bags of cash, but the real question is so what? Lots of people (incl myself) enjoy the game and have no problem with paying a relatively small fee per month to keep doing so.
Making all that money also means they can pump vast amounts of time and resources into other projects, eg Starcraft II and Diablo III.
Honestly, I hate a lot of companies out there, but Blizzard isn't one of them.
Serves them right. EA are a terrible company. 90% of their games are terrible. This DRM bollocks is a complete backwards step and nobody in their right mind would subject themselves to such nonsense. I only hope those who have been unfortunate enough to have been bitch slapped by this "You're a criminal" system have the sense to not do business with this company again.
I don't know what people are going on about giving them Kudos for writing a tirade filled with foul language. If I was a member of that site I'd be rather worried about my personal details being in the hands of such idiots by this point.
There's nothing down-to-earth or real about writing in such a way. I hate spin and "business-like" talk as much as the next guy, but I still expect some level of professionalism from a site Admin. In the site I admin I swear sometimes as well (ZOMG :O!!), but their rant really does seem to be swearing for the sake of swearing.
The whole thing just reeks of "Look at how down with the kids we are, we cuss every second word like all the other cool kids out there" - Maybe I'm just too old to appreciate it now (I'm 21, I guess their target audience is 14?), but the whole thing just strikes me as pretty pathetic.
Then again, I can't be arsed with social networking anyway.
