Re: Speed Limts ?

In the UK yes, also the speed limit for the road you're on.

Although the speed limit data can be inaccurate for up to a mile after passing into a different speed zone - one of the reasons I think that GPS linked automatic speed restrictors on any vehicle are the spawn of satan and will lead to deaths.

Re: SMS

Most household sockets in the UK are dual sockets, stick your relay between your wiring and your socket and you're going to be disabling multiple devices at once - not the most useful feature in the world.

And it's already being discussed, there was an article in the Times about it the other day.

Wife and I are planning a trip to London over Christmas, I think I might have found something extra to visit while we're there!

Thanks for an excellent article.

Re: This requirement for paper bills/statements...

I'm down the road from there myself, have been passing it for years but never noticed that before!!

Unfortunately this little fact may now be the cause of an accident as I crane my neck around trying to read the signs as I drive past!

Agreed but won't putting it in a box keep all the wires nice and neat?

Re: Banning Cyclists

I don't see why not, 25mph isn't that difficult on the flat on a half decent bike.

Re: Would I be right....

I once had a "discussion" with the owner of a petrol station as I was leaving the shop having paid for my fuel.

To sum it up, he said "you should have taken your helmet off before going in to pay", my response was something along the lines of "if you really think that a criminal is going to pay the slightest bit of attention to that and not rob you then you're a complete moron, all you're doing is inconveniencing completely innocent customers".

I wasn't quite that polite but one of his staff did thank me as I walked back to my bike!

Re: OMFG factually-accurate death metal references!

Manson isn't even that good.

I've seen both and Manson annoyed the hell out of me by announcing the title of every song before performing it, it's not like the audience haven't already heard them you annoying git! To be honest I was there for Rob Zombie anyway, who put on an amazing show.

Alice on the other hand... I've seen a lot of acts but I recently saw him with Hollywood Vampires (inc. Joe Perry and Johnny Depp) and I have never seen the rest of the band, stage etc so completely become merely background to the main artist - he owned that stage from the moment he walked on, not bad for a guy in his seventies.

People talk about "stage presence" - he has it in absolute abundance, if there was any way of converting it to electricity we could likely shut down every power station on the planet.

The strangest thing about all this? I'm not even a big Alice fan, only ever bought one of his albums back in the nineties.
