The nub of the issue: Has your ThinkPad's TrackPoint gone TITSUP*? You aren't alone

Love your Trackpoint

For my ThinkPad (E580) it is the trackpad that stops working at random intervals, but the Trackpoint is my saviour as it keeps soldiering on. I love my Trackpoint.

Printing fail yet again!

Updated a couple of weeks ago and got hit by the Brother printer foul-up. It took ten days to fix. I was not impressed.

The new version of Edge is also worse than the previous one.

Microsoft is down to its typical low standards.

Wailing Wednesday follows Patch Tuesday as versions of Windows 10 stop playing nicely with plugged-in printers

Here we go again

I have a Brother multi function device plugged into a Win10 desktop. The desktop knows it has a device connected but calls it 'Unspecified' rather than putting it in the printers section. A Win10 laptop can print over the network.

I also have a Linux Mint laptop that used to be able to print over the network, using Samba, but now it cannot connect.

Printer problems have become a regular issue after the six-monthly major updates.

What about the airports?

The borders are still open, especially the airports, with no obvious attempt to stop or quarantine people entering the country. This makes a mockery of Boris' attempts to put everyone else under house arrest.

Forget about those pesky closures, Windows 10 has an important message for you

Not really their fault

It isn't really Ikea's fault; they will only have followed Microsoft's own inadequate advice on the minimum specs required for Win10. You will remember that the first generation of netbooks had only 32GB of SSD storage that quickly filled up with bloat preventing updates from being applied. This kiosk is suffering from the same problem.

Beware the bugs

The online version of MS Office has bugs: The online version is quite limited in its functionality. If you open a file that has been created on the desktop version, using features that are not supported by the online version, the online version may change/corrupt the file. Be careful!
