Re: Split Tunnelling
Also from an employee perspective I would rather not have all my personal internet traffic routed through where I work. So please use split tunnelling system administrators.

Actually it works good, more reliable and more practical. Unlike type C with microusb I can charge from most PC USB ports at near AC charger speeds and the AC themselves use far less power than type C reducing risk of PowerPoint overloading. Also means root hubs on PC's don't overload anywhere near as often frequently with type C can prevent file transfer and smartphone internet tethering from working properly. The only thing I miss out on is fast charge but honestly with the 4000 mah battery in my phone I don't need to bother with this. I just let it charge overnight.
You don't really need ssds for gaming. In fact I can run plenty of games fine via HDDs connected via USB 2.0 ports.
And most games I run off internal HDD rather than my smaller ssd.
However as a boot drive I find ssd is great as it makes my drive boot fast.
Once my PC is booted up the benefits are reduced as the os software is stored in ram. Although waiting 5 minutes for a crackling HDD during bootup to get there is not nice.
Its fun to speculate on these things. There are certainly some interesting consequences associated with an open source Windows.
E.g. A Mac OS running on a Windows kernel, non-Microsoft gaming consoles running PS5 and Nintendo Switch running a Windows Kernel, the end of Windows embedded. A new Windows phone?
Command prompt only installs.
No need for open source graphics drivers.
All kinds of whacky stuff.
Although why do this? I'm not sure.
Why would you want a Windows kernel over a Unix or a Linux kernel anyways?
And also wouldn't Microsoft essentially be giving up their Windows Embedded and CE products?
BC works pretty well for most things on Wine and Dosbox and alternatives like Steam Proton. Even better than Windows 10 for old software.
Microsoft would be better placed to just create a version of Windows by porting Windows APIs to run on top of a Unix kernel like Wine. Which was a planned transition in the 90s.
Ever since I bought my new laptop a month back I've been running LibreOffice. It seems work very well.
If I need to do some statistical analysis that LibreOffice can't handle I can still just export to csv and use R or Python to do it.
In fact something like ggplot generally solve the template problems as far as my graphs are concerned.
There are plugins for Zotero that work perfectly fine for citations.
And I can also still write macro scripts if I need to.
Much better than buying a subscription to Office 2019.
This updated interface is good, I have a choice between Menu, Ribbon or both together.
Seriously MS Office is giant waste of money lol!
At over $1000 AUD for a phone in high income countries it is no wonder sales a dropping. Plus all the overpriced accessories.
Meanwhile my $99 AUD 2015 ZTE with $15 32 gb microsd combined with my recent 8 megapixel ZTE $40 AUD means I can do everything I want to do.
I can browse the web, take photos, send/recieve e-mail, use facebook, listen to podcasts and use spotify.
Also I can still actually USB 2.0 microusb that uses much less power can be used with other devices on powerboards and doesn't become randomly undetectable on my PC that lacks USB 3.0 ports.
I like my Macbook pro mid 2010 edition but probably won't buy new macbook again due to the lack of dedicated graphics card on 13 inch models plus the lack of things like usb or ethernet ports which will require more $$$ for accessories. Also Windows 7 and 10 along with Linux distros all run better on it than Mac OS (which is absolutely slow and unusable for me) does so I just use Windows 10 these days which runs flawlessly fast.
