In 20 years I never had a Win OS hanging on shutdown. That's usually what my linux boxes do since 5/6 years tho, before I start having arguments with SystemD.
My win boxes hang on startup usually, but 1) a good reinstall cycle usually fixes that for a year or so and 2) not happening anymore since 10 (well, happened once but it was the infamous borked update, rollback fixed that).
From personal experience, you can't write a proper book in Open/Libre Office. It will stuck on simple things like updating the index or the footnotes numbers, it will mess with page numbers, it will crash with no apparent reason when merging big docs (more than 100 page each). And so on and on.
Also, there is no reason to pay a monthly fee to MS: tell your friend a copy of Word '16 comes for 80€ here and it is your for life.
Why don't just buy a copy of Office 2013/2016/2019?
No subscription, no cloud, local hard copy at your will. It will do what you need and not what its degelopers think you might, wont mess with references, notes, page numbers, autocorrection...
Unless you just need to write things down, but for that Kate and some markdown are more than enough. Office is for producing complex documents, not the grocery list or personal notes, that would be like using a bazooka to kill a mosquito.
I found myself in a similar situation with 5.0.3 both on Debian 8 and Win 7. I contemplated the idea to pay the developer to fix the bug(s) that were messing with my work.
Then, I realized that I could buy MS Word/Excel/Powerpoint for a fraction. And without waisting more than 5 minutes, no mail-judo required.
They eventually fixed that later, but for the time I had already switched completely to Office and use Debian for other tasks (a pity, since it is much more comfortable than Win 10).
Not only that, but also the area to which that power is applied: the microwave use a 30Ghz wave at 800/1200W on a distance of a couple of centimeter. A 5G antenna radiates on a frequency between 3.5GHz and 24GHz with a power going from 250mW (24dBm) up to 250W(50dBm) for the largest array. 2/3/4G are on 20W(43dBm). But, the largest array (macro antennas) are designed to sit on 30m towers. By the work of Okumura-Hata we know that the path loss in dB 7.3+37.7log10(r). So, giving that you sit right under the 5G macro antenna's tower, the path loss (the loss of received power because of distance to put it simple) is ~63dB.
So, the power you receive *sitting under the biggest 5G antenna* is 50dBm-63dB=-13dBm. In a more comfortable unit, 0.000050118723363 Watts. It's 50,12μW.
The biggest 5G antenna is 23'943'147 times LESS than a microwave. Almost 24 MILLION TIMES LESS ENERGY.
1) "precautionary principle" resides in your head. And there is meant to stay.
2) those wavelenght *are* tested. Extensively. There is no physical way they could transmit enought energy not only to damage but to alter in any way a living tissue. And electro-magnetic sensitivity or whatever, is a psychosomatic disease. It's hysterical. As the precautionary principle, it lives in your neurotic head.
You are wrong. Male and female brain *are* significally different. Just not from a structural pow. But, coming to functional, hormonal and neuropeptides pathways representation, along with receptorial population, they *are* different. Deeply.
How do you think a woman brain can handle something like pregnancy and breast feeding, along with nurturing the infant? A male brain simply cannot produce nor make a use of that much oxitocine.
I would be happy to PubMed you more than a dozen of studies and meta analysis, but I would only prove you don't have a clue in psico-neuro-endocrinology, neuroscience and evolutionary psychology.
