When both your application and infrastructure are built from code and you're using good processes (e.g. git pull requests) with tools like jira and slack you can have a complete digital audit trail from management approval, code review, test coverage and results to release into production with who touched it at each point being automatically recorded.
I reckon compliance is easier in a devops world :-)
