Watch out, everyone, here come the Coronavirus Cops, enjoying their little slice of power way too much

Re: Wear face protection?

A grain of sand at about 2.5 x 10 e-6 m is well capable of being blown across the Mediterranean: Sahara - Rome ~3,000 km; Sahara - Madrid ~2500 km. A virus, at 100 x 10e-9 m, is about 40,000 x smaller so I really don't think we should get too worried about the difference between 2 m and 6 feet.

Why is a 22GB database containing 56 million US folks' personal details sitting on the open internet using a Chinese IP address? Seriously, why?

Re: late capitalists

I appreciate what you are saying, but to be fair, it is not the cosmetic companies that want to engage in incredibly expensive animal testing, it is the government that demands animal testing of products to be used on humans. Remember Thalidamide? Only tested on one species, which didn't have a problem with it

You can't get points on your driving licence if you were in charge of a machine that did not require you to ho;d a licence. I'm sure you could be booked for something, but your licence is not in any danger.

Wow, an AR-10 in 6.5 cm, that's 65mm!!! A proper hand cannon!

Re: Sigh ...

Yep, If you haven't passed your IAM or ROSPA test within 5 years, add a government surtax of 100% to your insurance costs as a nice financial incentive to make people get round to it.

The L test is just supposed to show that you are safe on the roads while you gain experience of driving. Why not make people prove they are both experienced & safe after a set time? We might get fewer lunatics on the roads if we did something like this.

Then....accident rates fall, NHS/emergency service costs/callouts fall, roads are safer, cheaper insurance (I am trying to find something negative for balance....nope).

If you are reading this, is there any reason you haven't taken an advanced driving test yet?

In the UK get a BT phone with 'Call Guardian'. Perhaps you don't need one but think of your elderly relatives. I must have been on a few list as I got 2 or 3 of these calls a day, this dropped to about 2 or 3 a week after I got CG. After 18 months or so.... well I can't remember the last scam call. CG is really great, can't recommend it enough.

Re: Not voting...

In the UK the number of spoilt ballot papers is recorded in the official figures of the vote.

I agree that you should make the effort to vote but must admit that having got to the voting station I have spoilt my ballot paper on more than one occasion.

UK watchdog Ofcom tells broadband firms: '30 days to sort your speeds'

I'm sure we could nearly all manage with low broadband speeds, the point is surely that we are PAYING for promised higher speeds which we then don't receive

Scenario 1. Come out of house, leap into ICE car, drive away

Scenario 2. Come out of house, detach EV from charging cable, stow cable, drive away
