UK has offered no guarantees whatsoever so any EU citizen staying in the UK feels like living on borrowed time.
Also, you can attract scientists however you want but a considerable portion of UK's scientific research was financed through the EU. Guess what's going to happen to that money now. Why should the scientists go to the UK which first has to find the money to finance the projects when they can simply go anywhere else in the EU where the research will move now?
Before you start commenting on something you have no clue about, I suggest you brush up on your geography.
As several other posters already suggested, Slovenia and Slovakia are two very different countries.
Melania and Manca are from Slovenia.
Slovenia is not Slovakia.
Slovakia is not Slovenia.
ESET is a Slovak company.
ESET isn't a Slovenian company.
Accidentally, Blaha is Slovak. Once again, he's not Slovenian. Unfortunately for Slovakia, lucky for Slovenia.
I am not sure if I can write down any simpler to get down on your level (or below) of geography.
But why is the fight for privacy so important for UK? After Brexit all the stuff around the GDPR is going to become a moot point as UK's privacy laws will be more inclined to resemble the USA ones, especially considering the fact that UK will need friends and allies and considers the US their "special friend" and ally against the EU.
