"We have contacted cPanel to get its reasons for the hike but have yet to hear back"
Cuz they're too busy planning on how to count all those fat stacks of filthy lucre they're about to get.

Full disclosure- vSAN SE for VMware. I got skin in this game.
Paragraph 1: Uh huh. Our customers run VIC, VIO, PKS on vSAN. 2009? Nah, Mr. Cheesyclown, welcome to 2029. And have fun convincing a CIO to run all on Hyper-V.
Paragraph 2: Nutanix? They already admitted they're not built for performance, and the VMware SDDC stack quashes that "not HCI" nonsense. Do you even know what a Readynode is?
P3: A mill on hardware?? My dude, some of the biggest retailers in the world run 2 node vSAN for ROBO at less than 10k a site. But thnx for flying your bias flag.
P4: I've been an engineer or implementation consultant my whole career, so your broad brush misses me. Good attempt at generalization though.
P5: ok, I'll give you that one. Sales gais...amirite?
P6/7: because ROI is bad? Not all apps run at 75% cpu, ram, storage. Lotsa legacy, as well as CN, so your argument is scurrilous.
P8/9: why you hate performance? Should we go back to clay & stylus? Would that make you happier?
P10: GTFOH. My customers have 30+ PB in Oracle, MySQL, NoSQL, MS SQL. Sell em NUCs??
P11: vSAN reduces storage spend, duh. You really think virtualization isn't effective? Market argues you're wrong.
P12: sorry, bruh, I only sell stuff to make their lives easier and their wallets fatter. Hate if you want. But then don't be anonymouse.
P13: Distributed computing works just fine virtualized, homes. Not only that, but it allows for instrumentation, orchestration, and substantial cost savings. Come at me.
P14: I'd say you're gettin nuthin but coal, but poor, angry soul that you are, I'ma give you some sympathy for Chrismaramahannuhkwanzaakahdanmas, too.
