The biggest issue here is that there is no proper fix. You can't replace a few transistors, you can't receive a downloadable CPU block, all you can do is disable some of the built in functions, make them work in other ways than intended.
In a plane you swap the offending part, you update the offending software and the end result is as expected, not gimped but sort of does the job. With billions of CPUs out there it will take years to hear the end of this.
