When I was in India earlier in the year, I saw Sikh soldiers manning armed sentry points at the Airports. They werre wearing turbans and not helmets. Why can they not do the same over here? Or how about wearing a top knot under their helmets cos surely those pointy hats the cops wear have enough space under them??

But a few comments on the review...

1. If it has the Sliding Panels homescreeen this is not an HTC innovation, this is part of the Windows Mobile Standard edition which I actually miss on my Touch Pro as it is highly configurable (Look for chome configurator on XDADevs) and less of a resource hog than Touch Flo.

2. It is "Microsoft Office" not "Windows Office" (And if you save a blank document you can then open this when you need to make a new document and save as a different filename)

Come on Reg, these are basic facts that I would have thought you would know and I think you should come to me whenever you want a phone reviewed in the future ;-) (If only so I can play with all the new gadgets)

I got one of these while I was in Australia on holiday as a cheap phone. It is just what one wants from a mobile: text messaging and phone calls! The alarm is pretty cool too as it has a built in talking clock :) Scared the hell out of me when I sat down one day and my pocket told me the time!

Having known a few pirate broadcasters, the music they play is more likely to be white label stuff and music they have produced than the gash that the RIAA/MPAA et al are interested in so no royalty fees need paying. In fact most of the producers are pushing to get their music played to get some airtime!

I managed to run up a £200 phone bill with O2 UK about a year ago just after I found Google Maps. I was showing everyone what it was like! I cancelled my contract paid them off and vowed never to go back to O2 ever again. I now use T-Mobile as my personal and Voda for work and havent had such a bad bill since, even after I used my Voda as a modem while I was moving house.

Use an extension called customizegoogle for firefox and get rid of all ads, click tracking etc and you will never have to see a google ad again. Coupled with ABP I forgot that there was even adverts on the net!!

Why have you never mentioned this phone as a decent BBerry replacement? I have used this for a few months now and I find it very useful.

My only gripes with it are more to do with T-Mobile disabling the WiFi and not offering the WM6 upgrade that the USA got a while back, though it is possible to get a version for it once the device is unlocked. Also it is not a 3G phone so suffers on the web browsing.

The battery life is fairly decent, it lasted for the whole of the Download Rock festival, (Thursday - Sunday) including lots of videos and pictures.
