Not just porn!!

Their website states they are against 'explicit violence, sex and bad language'. OK, why not hardwire in the BIOS of every new PC to set CBeebies as the default search engine?

Fuckwank! There - that's the Register done for with this new regime.

Was this NOTAM'd???

An easy way to check if the MoD explanation is BS is to see if there was a NOTAM published for the flare dropping activity. I'm an ex ATCO so don't have access to daily NOTAM notices although I know it's out there on t'interweb but can't be arsed looking for it - I am not after all, a UFO investigator.

Anyone????

Sky next?

Dear Sky TV purchaser,

We upgraded your Sky+ Box overnight which has removed your curtains and invites everyone in your street to peer through the window and watch your Sky television package, which by the way you are paying us for. You may opt out by hanging your curtains back up.

Re: Antony Riley

I'm afraid your rather wrong there - it's not a popular misconception - it's the truth. A 32 bit operating system can only PROPERLY address 4Gb - even Unix & Linux, it's not a Windows only thing.

The Advanced Server you mention can address 64Gb but that's because it uses a process called Physical Address Extension. Using PAE does not give more memory to the kernel. It only gives more to the user-mode application processes. All PAE does is “trick” the application into thinking it has more space by creating multiple page tables for each application.

In any event, the trickery uses processing power which effectively negates the effect of having that extra RAM in the first place.

Toothless?

Being able to tell a company they can never show their advert on UK TV again after probably spending thousands in its production is hardly toothless!

Can't you just tell the author is a die-hard mactardian jobfelcher?

NASA: The Moon is not enough

Gary Owen
Black Helicopters

We've never been there!

An astrophysicist who has worked for NASA writes that it takes two meters of shielding to protect against medium solar flares and that heavy ones give out tens of thousands of rem in a few hours.

Russian scientists calculated in 1959 that astronauts needed a shield of 4 feet of lead to protect them on the Moons surface. Why didn't the astronauts on Apollo 14 and 16 die after exposure to this immense amount of radiation? And why are NASA only starting a project now to test the lunar radiation levels and what their effects would be on the human body if they have sent 12 men there already?

Apollo missions were bollocks - even traversing the Van Allen belt (which would have taken them 4 hours) the astronauts would have received lethal doses of radiation.

Yes, yes there's always going to be conspiracy theorists - but just take a look here http://www.ufos-aliens.co.uk/cosmicapollo.html there's a few piecesbeing read into a bit much but it's interesting reading nevertheless - the gravity videos, especially of the astronaut getting up unaided from the ground is just spectacular!

@Eponymous Cowherd

You book into a Travel Lodge - you accept their terms and conditions just as you do with eBay. Have a lie down on your bed, become bored then decide as you're own you may as well crack one off and throw yourself around the room in a self induced masturbatory solo orgy.

Next morning, not realising you had been legally spied upon all the time you wake up and outside your door along with your complimentary copy of the Times is a plethora of leaflets from local sleaze merchants offering allsorts of self gratifying tat from Big Ones Monthly to a small sample of Jackoff lube and a tenner off voucher for a Big Boy vacuum pump- same principal as eBays new T&C's. Big difference!

It IS a bank

PayPal recently moved to Luxembourg and was awarded a banking licence - so yes, they're now a bank. This however means it's no longer authorised by the Financial Services Authority - so safer transactions for us UK ebayers? Hmmmmmmm.

Instead of Paris I was gonna have Tux - but penguins don't screw people.

Tycoon abandons £80k Maserati in London car pound

Gary Owen

Different rules for us poor buggers eh?

So normally they give 14 days for the owner to pick it up - but this 'was unusual'!

Unusual in that it was an 80 grand car - which for an ex Deutsche Bank employee is probably to him what a new Mondeo would be to most of us - but the DVLA wouldn't bat an eyelid in crushing that exactly 14 days later. B***ards!

Winds me up - the law is the law - unless you're bloody rich or a footballer, or an illegal immigrant...... or a horse - four legged, foul smelling animals get away with murder!

And no comments please about the Mondeo - I think they should all be crushed but it was just an example.
