This has got to stop
Whichever cretinous idiot awarded this patent needs to be taken out and shot. Patents like this should never be allowed to see the light of day.

ok, we may have traded in the right to own guns for the right to not be shot, but if you look at the murder stats for the US versus the UK, it seems to have been a good plan.
<maths>
murders in the UK in 2007 :: 784
murders in the USA in 2007 :: 16,929

Bloody hell. I have enough problems with the arseholes at TV licensing whinging about me not having a license to have a TV, I dont need these bitches whinging that I now need a license to use the internet.
I DONT OWN A STINKING TV. I DONT WATCH THE BBC, and still these arses send me threatening letters at least once a month. Now they can send me letters saying we know you have an internet connection. Give us money or else we'll take you to court.
fantastic.
executives at the bbc should burn for this.
Radiation was a known risk. The short duration of each trip was a key to creating favorable odds. Granted the two and a half year round trip to Mars will expose an astronaut to a dangerous amount of radiation, but the trip to the moon was an acceptable risk. That the trips were done using minimal computer power is something to be celebrated, not condemned.
What is so laughable about all the conspiracy theories is the idea that successive American administrations choose to and are sufficiently competent to continue covering up the failure of the Apollo missions to reach the Moon. Oh and the mathematics behind getting a rocket to the moon isn't all that difficult, even with just pencil and paper. Perhaps more than calculations that one would like to do on a Sunday afternoon, but not more that the combined resources of the American people.
£2.50 for an ad on linear algebra on a maths site. I genuinely believe google don't control the prices. The fact that there was NO ONE ELSE advertising with these keywords is irrelevant. The fact is that market (consisting of me) forces dictate these prices and they were fair and competitive....hmmmm....
This is the death knell of a government crippled by incompetence. Incapable of solving the greater problems of society the government squanders its dying breath on the high profile but fundamentally unimportant issue of downloading. RIP the Labour government.
So the gates have a metal detector for the school children. If I remember school correctly it lacked the 30ft high walls of a prison . I'm assuming that a knife could be thrown into an unsecured part of the grounds and retreived by the student / killer at his / her convenience. This policy was clearly designed by idiots for idiots.
Errr well you could do that but then microsoft would say they were $100,000,000,000,000 out of pocket and sue your ass. Unlike the open source community who would be $0.00 out of pocket. Are we surprised in any way that the US justice system is unable or unwilling to defend free software?
