IBM stands for I Block Money, says sales rep: Big Blue sued yet again by its own staff over 'missing' commissions

Sad, obviously they are not as smart as they think they are

Not rocket science

Dear sales folk,

Unless you are simply greedy and stupid, I suggest you don't work for IBM. Without salespeople they can't sell their shit, can they?

AT&T: We did nothing wrong in promising unlimited data that wasn't. We're just giving the FTC $60m for fun

Why are you still an AT&T customer?

I mean really. When you contract is up, switch providers. AT&T only care about numbers. Hit them in the wallet and they will be forced to change their ways. If nobody buys their products or services, guess what happens?

Agreed

First Dave, you and I are definitely on the same page. The US has effectively put a knife in the back of their tourism industry. Far better countries to visit that the US.

@wallaby Re: Fucking idiots

The difference is that Apple has always been a "closed box" environment where they control everything, and Windows USED TO BE an "open box" where you could customize settings, choose updates, etc. This is the reason I am not an Apple fan, and went with Windows in the first place. With Windows 10, Microsoft if trying to transition Windows into a "closed box", which is why people are pissed.

Canuck privacy commissioner to dig into Uber data breach

FreeRadical

Pardon?

"The privacy of riders and drivers is of paramount importance at Uber...said a spokesman.

Does this company have any sort of conscience? How can you say this after you were caught red-handed in a blatant cover up? Companies generally have no integrity these days, but Uber, you just put yourself at the top of the list with this statement.

More crap for the e-waste facilities?

"These Snapdragon Windows 10 PCs...are not workstations, they are not software development machines...and they are not hefty gaming rigs. They are consumption junctions."

Great, just what we need. A device built exclusively for using Facebook and Netflix. I don't know about the UK, but data plans for smartphones here in Canada are ridiculously overpriced. The last thing I need is to pay more for the "privilege" <sarcasm> of using Facebook or streaming the 10% of good content available on Netflix. Wifi works just fine for both tasks thank you.

Users replacing Surface tablets with standard laptops - no surprise

I work for a transportation company in Canada. A Manager (who is no longer with the company thank god) made the choice to purchase Surface Pro 3's for our mobile users based purely on the marketing info supplied by M$. Recently, our users (enmasse) began requesting to replace their Surface Pros with standard laptops, citing various reasons related to lack of usability and hardware issues.

This issue outlined in this article comes as absolutely no surprise to me.

These devices were pure marketing hype from the beginning, and still are. As a purchaser of IT equipment for many years, my advice to the general public is to steer clear of this crap. High failure rates and the fact that they just don't live up to the marketing hype should be reason enough. If you want to look trendy in Starbucks, fine, but if you want true usability, nothing beats a good old laptop.

Bleeping Computer has always been a reliable resource

I have benefited (read: had my ass and data saved) from the information supplied by BC many times. Enigma who? Spy Hunter what? BC wins...no contest. Enigma, you embarrass yourselves badly with this.

Just opt for a better destination and avoid the hassle whenever possible

I have a very simple solution, for those of us that don't rely on visiting the US for business purposes. If you are looking to vacation somewhere, just don't go to the US. On my last few visits I have been less than impressed by what I see. The infrastructure seems to be crumbling, and other than the newest of construction, everything is in desperate need of a wash and a new coat of paint.

I can think of several destinations that would be more pleasurable to travel to, where I will not be subject to US officials snooping in my electronics and installing god only knows what kind of nasty software. For a country so heavily vested in consumerism, they sure are doing a good job of driving away tourists. Just one Canadian's opinion.
