Does anyone know the little known fact...

...that years ago the likes of SAP, MS and a ton of other Western tech giants handed out free software licenses to Indian 'colleges' and 'universities' with the view to drive down the TCO of their products? That TCO being salaries paid to Western IT workers. Yes, whilst education outfits in the West had to pay for MS and SAP software licenses (at a discount), in India they were dished out for free.

The whole thing was planned out years ago.

Lets do the needful and revert.

To all permies, you don't understand contracting hence why you're all still permies, make nonsense comments and are proud to pay tax to a bankrupt state. Can't believe how many permies think paying tax is a "great thing"? I remember when avoiding tax was called smart - take note permies, tax avoidance is legal and tax evasion is illegal.

I'm a contractor and I get paid XYZ quid a day more than a permie because:

* I don't want holiday pay

* I don't want "employee rights"

* I don't want staff appraisals and other HR sh*te

* I don't want anything to do with HR Depts

* I don't want free gym membership

* I don't want sick pay

* I don't want BUPA or "dental plans"

* I don't want 'notice periods'

* I don't want a payroll dept dealing with my pay

* I don't want the Xmas party

* I don't want "salary reviews"

* I don't want season train ticket loans

* I don't want "pension" plans

* I don't want to work when someone tells me I have to work

What a lot of you permies don't seem to understand is that 95% of the above is an EXPENSE for your company and so they don't pay tax on those things which you permies call "benefits". How come it's OK for your company to play the game but not OK for contractors to do the same thing?

As a contractor, I have none of the above because I have exchanged all that in favour of money and a bit more, due to 'risk'. And you nut-job PAYE permie slaves want me to pay the same tax as you? Do one!

Whay do I want:

* I want money and want control over payroll and how much I pay this bankrupt state

* I want to work when I want to work

* I want to say "b*ll*cks" and walk when permies make my life difficult

The above three points, permies, is called: FREEDOM

Outsourcing is sanctioned at the top and so no heads will roll. If this debacle is a result of outsourcing to a BobCo in India, then you can bet that the Execs at the top will defend the BobCo. To admit they made a mistake in outsourcing a vital function of their business to a 3rd World Bob Shop would be like the Pope saying "there is no God", just will not happen. The answer will be "MOAR OUTSOURCING".

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but those Directors with their MBA in Utter B*ll*cks hate IT, they hate 1st world IT staff and they hate the fact that they themselves do not understand IT. They'll always do what they can to offload IT to India et al with their mistaken belief that IT people are not smart, anyone can do IT and Indians are the best and the cheapest when compared to 1st World people. It's almost as if such people cannot stand people below them who are smarter than them: the IT guys & gals.

I seem to remember this rot setting in during the late 90s. Anyone remember when non-IT chumps started to show up in IT depts? They were called "Service Management" armed with their sh-ITIL psychobabble. Then we got the "InfoSec" types who knew feck all about Windows, Servers, Networking, Exchange etc. but barked out orders based on sh*t they were reading on InfoSec forums. And then we got the creeping death known as the "Bobification of IT"...Indians with "Bachelors Degrees" and MCSE certifications. And now we know that cheating on exams and certs is an epidemic in India. Why are directors & managers in the 1st world outsourcing 1st world jobs to 3rd world crooks?

Who will do the needful? Who will revert?
