We tried to network a couple of QL's together ..with the nonstandard connectors .. Sure te microdrives were a bit flakey, they were originally designed to work with the ZX81 but live always wanted them to be cheaper to build...
But I loved my QL. Mine was actually stolen from storage..a tragedy!
Everyone gets upset when they "Islamophobe" and "White nationalist" but what do those terms really mean?
Islam is not only a religion but also a political movement, so to be against it is entirely legitimate. When leftists scream "Tory scum!" do they get vilified in the same way?
Additionally the term "White nationalist" is no more offensive than saying BLM.. it's in group preferences, that every other race indulges in...so...what?
Why on earth would anyone buy a product from IBM these days with high turn over, skills drain and poor QC all combine to form a sketchy product and service levels.
I am/was an Aix guy but I have not heard a peep from any agencies in years.. with a platform that is stagnating with a lack of innovation.. it just feels stale these days.
Well, I currently work in a "place like this".
Here is what happens in our IT dept. We have critical systems that no one cares about because they were installed a "number of years ago" on a new and sparkly version of Centos5 ..then one day it stopped working due to a "certificate issue"
The main problem was that the guy who installed it had left the company due to The rolling "1% annual pay rise regardless of performance" despite having to sit through the corporate wank session who told us all about the bumper profits. We were told that there was no money in the kitty due to a need to replace a bunch of laptops for the sales guys... that did not stop sales from getting fat bonuses, but more to the point..I don't work in sales so why tell me that???
Like a lot of employees, it dawned on us that we could literally turn water into wine and feed the forty thousand and it would make no actual difference to our salaries.. so why bother? We all just do the absolute bare bum basic minimum and look for other jobs in support.
Between the massive employee turnover and poor morale..there are a lot of "end-of-year functions" that are ignored.
After all why make more work for yourself if it's never appreciated?

This is a bloody awful attitude.. If it was not for all those hard working contractors THERE WOULD BE NO BENIFIT paymanets to ANYONE!
We create the cash, the government ( who have bugger all to do with creating the cash ) takes a portion and gives it to people that dont work and watch Jeremy Klye all day.
You should be on your knees thanking us for working so hard!
