Amazing how easy it is to say why innovation won't work. Maybe The Reg could dredge up a collection of historical pronouncements about why various things we now accept as unremarkable could never work or catch on.

fix you speak of. Trouble was they could not get them booked on a flight over from India.
My humble Lorus has not not needed a battery, nor has it ever stopped, in 16 years, even if I leave it in my drawer for a month or so.

So true. Powers previously given for "anti terrorism" end up used to combat fly-tipping, gaming the schools admissions system etc.
The means necessary for government to listen in on anyone need to come at a cost such that the natural equilibrium is that they can but be deployed sparingly. A blanket ability, limited only by government fiat, will always tend towards blanket use, much as water runs downhill.

How is it their fault they work for assholes? But, whereas they would have to put their livelihood at risk to challenge them, you could do it risk free. Why expect others to risk their house for what you won't do yourself for nada?
