Apple announces lossless HD audio at no extra cost, then Amazon Music does too. The ball is now in Spotify's court

Tidal?

If you want Spotify, but in lossless, then listen to Tidal. Same UI, ~same collection of songs, same price, (subjective) better sound quality. At least on my modest USB DAC + Headphones combo, the Tidal stream has a bit wider soundstage, and doesn't sound as flat as Spotify's output.

Maybe a programmer of theirs took liberties to meet deadlines. And it flew through reviews, and management knows nothing. ;)

Oooh shiny

Now that it affects the politicians, it becomes an important issue.

Instead of voting for these monkeys, we should all be allowed to vote on the issues, the infrastructure and authentication methods are there, and those that don't wish to vote could still default to have their elected representative vote as they see fit.

Boffins' five eyes surprise: Bees correct colour for ambient light

knandras

They have tried this before...

The Nikon D2H (in 2003) had an ambient light sensor on the prism housing, that did exactly this.

Problem is, you need the correct colours for the subject of picture, not where the camera is. The camera might be in shade, the flower/animal/person your're photographing might not. Later cameras didn't have the sensor... go figure. It was useful to measure a sort of average for the whole environment, but wasn't practical.

HPE Labs manufactures monster memory Machine system

This is silly, locking and synchronization must be a nightmare on this. I'd rather have nodes with a fair amount of local memory and a very fast network connection. But that's just me.
