Pretty good business plan from Dell
They get to sell stuff to a "niche" market and they can get rid or their crap hardware as it won't run Vista in its full glory. Pretty much a win win situation for Dell :p

Sounds like a case of ban it for the majority, because of the inconsiderate minority. Mobile tech is useful and doesn't need to be loud, you have text messages, emails and even IM. Loud twats will always exist, deal with them and their lack of consideration. I personally don't want to be cut off from the world because you might encounter someone who doesn't respect your set of social rules.
Why the *bleep* are people defending companies who throttle bandwidth below what they advertise using the old finite resource bollocks? If they don't have a resource available then they should not sell it. They need to cap because they over subscribe their service in hope that people are not going to all use what they have paid for. Then when they run out of bandwidth instead of investing in more infrastructure to actually handle what they advertise they throttle instead.
They are cheeky doing what they do, but good lord you must be a monkey to actually defend this type of practice!
Daryl isn't a greedy troll who tried to make a quick buck from bullying Linux users, what if he is true penguin head willing to sacrifice his company, his reputation, his stockholders resources to strengthen Linux's position? All of the FUD they were selling would now work in reverse and the whole thing has been a big PR coup for Linux.
Of course his letter to SCO partners and customers saying that the court is wrong, says that the above scenario is not likely to be the case :p
ActiveSync basically sucks balls, the latest version is so slow.
I dropped it in favour Funambol quite a while ago, which allows me to sync all of my devices as long as I have an internet connection. Still forced to use ActiveSync to install apps, but I guess I could sync over the cab files and run the install that way to be totally free of it.
