My programming is shit, the almost none that I do. When in college in the 90s I enjoyed programming, but, was sadly shit, struggled with the logic. A lottery number picker I made in Pascal I had a leacture look at. My loop that was about a page long, he made one into a few lines, I could see it after that. But then when another logic problem came up and the maths, my brain hurts.

By time I did a year in Uni I was bored of programming. I just wasn't getting it but I remember we did C++ which seemed good. Roll on a few years ago and I discover CS50 with David Malan who is an amazing teacher. But the course did C as a start then you move along different languages. Fucking 'ell C appears annoyingly complicated. I saw why C++ appeared so much better.

So not being a programmer, maybe C does need to go? And surely all those C experts can make a fortune being "consultants" when companies struggle to find good C programmers to maintain legacy software.

It may have changed since I last used Avaya several years ago now, but their user database is as insecure as leaving your door wide open. They don't encrypt the database so the user passwords are stored in plan text. Sign in as admin, change the password field in whatever browser you're in to text and you reveal that persons password. Why is this an issue? Because as I'd talk to users, some would confess of using the same password as their Windows login. Anyone that gets into the database would have fun with that.
