I have 8 framed cheques on the wall of my office, from scammers like these. Total value just over 6.5 Million $. Three cheques from the same scammer. I kept telling him/her/it that the cheque had not arrived and he/she/it kept sending me replacements.
It is a small expense to them, but the joy it brings to my life makes it all worthwhile. :)
Paris, because even she isn't STUPID enough to fall for these scams.
I used to be a big time Mac hater. I thought they were useless, over priced, point and drool garbage. Then Mac OS/X came out, and the world changed for me. I was a Linux freak at the time, and the idea of a Unix system that I could buy real commercial software for really appealed to me.
I started by comparing Apple machines to higher end PC machines and discovered to my shock that the prices were as close as to make no difference. But I still wasn't quite ready to make the switch.
But then one day in 2005 Apple announced they were switching to Intel processors, and I thought well, if it doesn't work out, I can always just run Linux on it. When the MacBook came out, I bought one.
I had a few small pains switching, but no more than I would expect when changing OS versions.
Now I have a MacBook Pro, and I am quite happy with it, I upgraded the RAM to 4GB, and use a MS trackball on it. (I could hear it screeming when I plugged that in.)
Now before someone dismisses me as an IT wannabe, let me tell you I admin a mixed network, of XP, and Mac desktops. As well as Solaris, CentOS, Debian, FreeBSD, and a couple of Windows 2003 servers. (Working on getting rid of the Windoze stuff.)
RCMP are required by procedure to search any residence in the event of an aborted 911 call.
There was a case recently where this procedure was not followed, a woman died, and a police dispatcher was terminated.
Canadian police work with local power companies to find grow ops by looking for houses using far more power than their neighbours.
White Rock is a fairly expensive area, with large houses over 3000 Sq feet is not uncommon.
BC pot is some of the best in the world... Or so I am told.
Possession is technically illegal, but is almost never charged.
There are many places where you will regularly smell people smoking pot, but the cops really don't seem to care.

It hasn't worked any other time it has been tried. It is just another bad idea that will waste a pile of cash, and fail.
As an ex Mac hater who has come over to the dark side. I would like to point out the by default you are warned before running for the first time any program you download off the internet. The you are asked for your password before it can install anything.
This is the password that you are required to enter when setting up your account. IIRC you can enter a blank password, but it will carefully explain why this is a bad idea.
Over all, not a bad compromise between security and usability.
Mine it the flame proof coat.
Se started explaining his new policy that we had to be logged in and ready to work at the beginning of our shift. I stood up, interrupted him and asked two questions.
1. Am I correct in me belief that securing our computers by logging in and out is an important part of our jobs here?
<His answer> An exasperated yes.
2. What does *Labour Relations think of your illegal policy?
<His answer> aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa?????
That was the last we heard of that foolishness.
* Labour Relations is the Canadian Government agency tasked with protecting employees rights.

This ad has been out in Canada for a while. and it is a huge waste is Microsoft's money.
Just like the Jerry Seinfeld ads.
They really have no clue why people don't like their products. It is simply the latest is a long line of clueless MS ads, and it will do nothing for them.
So I like it.
Why is it some little guy can make an electric car that is cool, goes fast, and can even go a distance I might need to travel, but all the big car manufacturers insist on making slow ugly piles of steaming crap with a range that can not get me to work, let alone getting me back home?
