My dad taught teachers how to teach maths in the 80s/90s. One thing he'd do is ask a room full of teachers or parents how they do calculations like these and people would get flustered that they were doing it wrong as others did it differently. His point was there's often more than one way to get to the correct answer and you should use the method best for you.

He also got me going with computers, first using LOGO and then BASIC of various forms - computing was counted as part of maths then.

To this day for the 9 times table I hold down the digit (physically or mentally) that I want to multiply by, for example my left thumb gives 4 (fingers) 5 (thumb + 4 fingers).

I used to vaguely know a guy who was a graphic designer who couldn't get a job after art school. He ended up doing graphic design for porn mags, apparently the novelty soon wore off.

My uni had a miserly 1MB space for each student, but more space for email. I used to email myself files instead of saving them to the fileshare. When I did need to take files home on floppy I made sure I had three copies (I'd once had two go bad on me).

It's also possible that the web developers did it knowingly without thinking of the consequences.

In my previous job, I did sometimes have to deal with "deidentified" clinical data. It's amazing how quickly you become blasé about it.

I used Skype for Business on a Mac, it was the most unstable software on there. I never knew whilst joining a meeting if I'd be able to get through it without out my or a colleague's SfB crashing...

Skype had the major advantage that it only did messaging / calls and therefore could be switched off when you actually want to concentrate enough to do the job you're paid for. Teams also has all the document sharing so you can't just kill it with fire...

You've forgotten people just writing Hello and then going offline, before doing the same thing again the next day. For bonus points after a few days of this you can mark the ticket as closed saying "Unable to contact user".
